Biographical Presentation
A., ein Schüler von J. J. Schnabel in Breslau, war seit 1825 dort am Stadttheater erster Geiger und später Dirigent einer wandernden Operngruppe. 1838 wurde er als Dirigent nach Petersburg berufen, wo er 1842 die Uraufführung von M. J. Glinkas Oper „Ruslan und Ludmilla“ leitete. Von 1845 ab dirigierte er die Philharmonischen Konzerte. 1850 wurde er Gesangslehrer an der Waisenanstalt in Gatschina.
