  • Biographical Presentation

    Christian, Herzog zu Sachsen-Weißenfels, Sohn Johann Adolfs I., geb. am 23. Februar 1682, folgte seinem Bruder Johann Georg 1712, vermählt am 11. Mai 1712 mit Luise Christine v. Stolberg, Wittwe Johann Georgs von Mansfeld, gründete 1716 das Seminarium illustre zu Weißenfels. Durch maßlose Verschwendung überschuldet, mußte er sich die Einsetzung einer kaiserlichen, dem Kurfürsten von Sachsen übertragenen Debitcommission gefallen lassen; starb erblindet und kinderlos am 28. Juni 1736 zu Sangerhausen.
