Biographical Presentation
A. erlernte das Buchdruckerhandwerk bei seinem Vater und wurde nach Wanderjahren über Leipzig, Nürnberg und Prag 1685 als Drucker nach Herborn berufen. Es gelang ihm, Druckerei und Verlag (meist theologische Bücher) recht erfolgreich zu gestalten. 179 Verlagswerke sind bekannt, darunter eine Bibel, das Nassau-Dillenburgische Gesangbuch, das Bergische Gesangbuch u. a. 1695 erhielt er auch das Privileg zum Wiederbetrieb der ehemals Corvinusschen Papiermühle am Obertor; wahrscheinlich hatte er auch die Corvinus-Druckerei inne. Seine Offizin erlosch unter seiner Witwe 1748.
