    Burchard, ein deutscher Dominicaner zu Straßburg, der nicht mit dem Geographen gleichen Namens verwechselt werden darf, unbekannter Herkunft, lebte am Ende des 13. und zu Anfang des 14. Jahrhunderts und schrieb eine handschriftlich vieler Orten erhaltene „Summa casuum“, theils Auszug, theils Ueberarbeitung der von Raymund.
