  • Biographical Presentation

    B., Schüler des Rechen- und Münzmeisters Abraham Riese in Annaberg (Sohn von Adam Riese), studierte in Leipzig 1598-1601, war seit 1607 Schüler des Mathematikers Johann Praetorius in Altdorf und dann des Malers und Radierers Johann Hauer in Nürnberg (1612). 1611 wurde er Magister; seit 1619 war er Inspektor der Kunstkammer in Dresden, wo er das Schraubenmikrometer erfand und auf einer Rechenschiene anbringen ließ.
