    Niedersächsisches Adelsgeschlecht edelfreier Abstammung, ursprünglich auf der Burg Hodenberg bei Hoya/Weser, später in Hudemühlen – Kreis Fallingbostel seßhaft. Zu ihm gehören unter anderem: Marquard († herzoglicher Rat, →Christoph (1520–88), Großvogt und Statthalter in Celle, dessen Sohn →Marquard (1563–1629), Hofmeister und Prinzenerzieher zu Celle, Landdrost zu Grubenhagen, Berghauptmann zu Clausthal, kaiserlicher Rat (siehe Literatur), dessen Sohn →Bodo (1604–50), kaiserlicher Resident bei der schwedischen Hauptarmee, welfischer Rat und Prinzenerzieher (siehe Literatur), →Ernst (1787–1858), hannoverischer Generalleutnant, →Gottlob (1837–1903), sächsischer General der Infanterie, und →Hodo (1887–1962), Oberlandesgerichtspräsident in Celle.
