    Haslob: Michael H., Humanist, geb. zu Berlin 1540, begann seine Studien in Frankfurt a. O., wo er auch, mit Ausnahme eines kurzen Aufenthaltes in Wittenberg, lernend und lehrend die weiteren Jahre seines Lebens zubrachte. 1568 zum Magister creirt, erhielt er 1572 die Professur der Poesie und starb am 28. April 1589, nachdem er kurz zuvor in zweiter Ehe die nachgelassene Tochter seines Lehrers, des Prof. Joh. Schosser Aemilianus, geheirathet hatte. Seine lateinischen Gedichte, welche allmählich in kleineren Sammlungen, zuletzt in einer Gesammtausgabe (Francof. impr. Andr. Eichorn 1588. 8.) erschienen, leiden nicht selten an großer Breite der Darstellung, zeichnen sich jedoch durch Glätte und Wohllaut der Verse aus. Sie haben vorwiegend religiösen Inhalt; daneben finden sich Naturlieder ("Hortus vernus“, zuerst 1572, „Vernorum carminum libri II.“ 1578) und Gelegenheitsgedichte, wie die „Carmina pestis tempore (1585) scripta“, „Elogia“ und Dedicationes in großer Zahl.
