  • Biographical Presentation

    Nach der Lehrzeit beim Vater bildete E. sich in den Niederlanden und in Nürnberg weiter. Etwa 1743-48 ist er Zeichenmeister an der Universität Erlangen. Bekannt wurde er vor allem als Porträtstecher (besonders in Schabkunst, unter anderem Leopold Mozart, 1756) und als Zeichner für Druckgraphik (Buchillustrationen, Allegorien und Embleme nach Cesare Ripa, Andachtsbilder, Thesenblätter, Bildnisse, Ansichten, Wappen, Kalender und andere).
