Biographical Presentation
Gmelin: Johann Konrad G., ein Sohn von Johann Georg G. (dem Aelteren), geboren zu Tübingen am 2. August 1707, † das. am 19. Juni 1759. Er war Arzt und Apotheker in Tübingen, hielt auch Vorlesungen an der Universität und veröffentlichte verschiedene Aufsätze zu Verbesserung der Bereitung einzelner Arzneimittel; so z. B. beschrieb er eine geheime Arznei aus ätzendem Sublimat, Essig und Weingeist, einen schweißtreibenden Spießglanzschwefel etc. (aufgezählt sind sie alle in Gmelin, Geschichte der Chemie, II. 640).
