  • Biographical Presentation

    Nach Ausbildung bei Isaac Fisches in Augsburg ging K. nach Nürnberg zu Christoph Weigel, bei dem er das Kupferstechen und Radieren, besonders die Schabkunstmanier, lernte. In der Pastellmalerei war er Schüler des Malers →Johann Martin Schuster. 1715-17 reiste K. nach Wien, Sachsen, Hamburg, in die Niederlande und nach Frankreich. An verschiedenen Fürstenhöfen führte er Porträtaufträge aus. Bisher sind Gemälde noch nicht bekannt geworden. Seine Porträtstiche und Schabkunstblätter stellen Patrizier und Bürger in Nürnberg, Adelige, Bischöfe und Fürsten dar; zum Teil entstanden sie nach zeitgenössischen Vorlagen.
