Biographical Presentation
Angehörige dieses niedersächsischen (Kehdingenschen) Adelsgeschlechts gehören im späten Mittelalter zum städtischen Patriziat in Stade. Claus († 1541) und sein Sohn Hermann († 1541) waren dort Bürgermeister. Claus war einer der mächtigsten Männer jener Zeit an der Niederelbe, ein Vertrauter EB Christophs von Bremen. Der gleichen Familie gehören an: →Ludwig Eberhard (1812–71), preußischer General (siehe ADB V, Priesdorff VIII, S. 241 f., Porträt), Weipart (1781-1845), hannoverischer General der Kavallerie (siehe ADB V), und die Schriftstellerin Auguste (geborene Meyer, Pseudonym Auguste von der Elbe, 1828 bis 1908, siehe Kosch, Lit.-Lex.).
