Biographical Presentation
Altes niederländisches Geschlecht; Jan Berend van D., Leineweber, und Hendrik wurden 1594 und 1595 Großbürger von Deventer. →Steven (1672–1758) wird als erster der Familie als Mennonit erwähnt und war mennonitischer Prediger. Er begann mit Geldleihe und erwarb eine Seifensiederei und Ölmühle in Deventer. Sein Enkel →Jan Mattheuszoon (1798–1872) ließ sich in Nordhorn (Grafschaft Bentheim) nieder, wurde dort Bürger und 1846 Teilhaber der 1839 gegründeten Baumwollweberei seines Schwiegersohnes Willem Stroink aus Enschede (Holland). 1847 gründete er mit diesem eine Färberei und eine Spinnerei, 1863 mit zwei Söhnen eine eigene Baumwollweberei in Nordhorn.
