Biographical Presentation
Philippi: Friedrich P., Rechtsgelehrter, verbrachte sein ganzes Leben in Leipzig. Am 9. Juli 1650 dortselbst als ein Sohn des Professors Johann P. (s. dsn.) geboren, studirte er — theilweise als Schüler seines Vaters an der Leipziger Hochschule die Rechte, erlangte 1679 den juristischen Doctorgrad und wurde 1688 Assessor der dortigen Juristenfacultät, zuletzt deren Senior, in welcher Eigenschaft er am 8. December 1724 in einem Alter vom 74 Jahren und 5 Monaten mit Tod abging. — Es wird an ihm gerühmt, er habe „sehr fleißig collegia gelesen"; aber auch als Schriftsteller zeigte er sich sehr thätig. Wir besitzen von ihm außer einer „Synopsis institut. Justin.“ (Zeitz 1685. 4°) aus der Zeit von 1680—1712 mehrere Programme und Disputationen, welche civilrechtliche, namentlich aber processuale Fragen zum Gegenstand haben. Von letzteren erwähnen wir: „Disp. de probate de auditu" (Lps. 1680), „De juramento judiciali" (Lps. 1683), „De nominatione auctoris" (Lps. 1683. 4°), „De fatalibus in proc. saxonico“ (Lps. 1680), „De reassumtione litis“ (Lps. 1689. 4°), „De rescissoria occasione S. C. Vellejani“ (Lps. 1712. 4°) u. a. m. Rotermund gibt in Bd. V, S. 71 ein vollständiges Verzeichniß der Philippi’schen Schriften mit Angabe des Druckortes und Jahres; ebenso die biblioth. Mart. Lipenii II, 236.
