    Pelldram: Leopold P., Bischof von Trier, geb. am 3. Mai 1812 zu Schweidnitz, † am 3. Mai 1867 zu Trier. Er absolvirte die Gymnasialstudien zu Glatz, die theologischen Studien zu Breslau und Bonn und wurde am 5. April 1835 zu Breslau zum Priester geweiht. Nachdem er an mehreren|anderen Orten in der Seelsorge thätig gewesen, zuletzt als Pfarrer, Erzpriester und Schulinspector zu Warmbrunn, wurde er von dem Fürstbischof Diepenbrock am 1. Juli 1850 zum Propst von St. Hedwig in Berlin, fürstbischöflichen Delegirten für die Mark und Ehrendomherrn ernannt. 1859 vertauschte er diesen Posten mit dem des katholischen Feldpropstes der Armee. Als pflichttreuer, hochgebildeter und milder Geistlicher stand er in Berlin in hohem Ansehen. Nachdem Abt Haneberg die am 1. Juni 1864 auf ihn gefallene Wahl zum Bischof von Trier abgelehnt hatte, wurde am 29. December P. gewählt. Er wurde am 27. März 1865 präconisirt, am 28. Mai zu Breslau von dem Fürstbischof Förster unter Assistenz der Weihbischöfe Eberhard von Trier und Wlodarski von Breslau consecrirt, am 11. Juni zu Trier inthronisirt, verwaltete sein Bisthum aber nur zwei Jahre.
