Biographical Presentation
Corvinus: M. Andreas C., den 7. Octbr. 1589 zu Westenfeld geboren, ein Sohn des damaligen Pfarrers Johannes C. und ein Neffe des M. Wolfgang C., auch Wolfgang Westenfeld genannt, der 1614 als geschätzter Professor der Philosophie zu Leipzig starb, kam 1598 auf das Gymnasium zu Schleusingen, besuchte 1608 die Universität Leipzig, bereiste 1612 das Ausland, ging darauf nach Leipzig zurück, wurde hier 1616 Magister, 1618 Assessor der philosophischen Facultät, 1620 Professor der Eloquenz, 1621 Mitglied des großen Fürstencollegiums und 1644 Professor der lateinischen Sprache. Er starb den 14. Jan. 1648. Von seinen Werken: „Fons latinitatis"; „Methodus tractandi progymnasmata oratoria"; „Religio juridica“, hat das erstgenannte lange Zeit als Hauptbuch der lateinischen Sprache in Schulen und auf Akademien gegolten. Als er in die Kirche zu Römhild des Ludov. Lucii Jesuiten-Historie stiftete, schrieb er in das Buch: „Impleat vos Deus odio Papae“.
