Thebes, Adam Thebesius, Georg

  • Biographical Presentation

    Thebes: Adam Gottfried Th. (oder Thebesius), Sohn des Arztes Dr. med. Adam Christian Th., eines Urenkels des Adam Th., von dem im vorigen Artikel die Rede war, wurde zu Hirschberg in Schlesien am 30. April 1714 geboren. Er besuchte das Elisabethgymnasium in Breslau, bezog 1732 die Universität Leipzig, wurde 1735 hier Magister und 1737 Diaconus zu Kreibau und Altenlohmb. Im J. 1742 wurde er, nachdem Schlesien preußisch geworden war, zum Pastor in Warmbrunn erwählt; er starb aber schon am 30. März 1747, noch nicht 33 Jahre alt. Th. hat geistliche Lieder gedichtet, von welchen mehrere in dem im J. 1747 herausgekommenen Hirschbergschen Gesangbuche zuerst gedruckt sind, zu welchem er auch eine Vorrede geschrieben hat.
