    B. begegnet 1500 und 1507 als Student sowie 1511, 1513, 1516 und 1531 als Magister Artium und Licentiatus theologiae an der Universität Leipzig, wo er vermutlich mit Melchior von Worms, →Johannes Galliculus, →Michael Koswick, →Andreas Ornitoparchus, →Georg Rhaw und vielleicht auch mit →Johannes Cochlaeus, dem Lehrer →Glareans, bekannt wurde. B. ist der Verfasser einer 14 Blätter umfassenden Abhandlung, die 1514 bei Melchior Lotter in Leipzig gedruckt wurde und wahrscheinlich mehrere Auflagen erlebte (1517 oder 1518). Sie enthält in 7 Kapiteln, deren Reihenfolge mit der Kapitelanordnung der Traktate eines Michael Keinspeck (Lilium musicae planae, Basel 1496), Anonymus Riemann (Introductorium musicae, um 1500, liberal I), Balthasar Prasperg (Clarissima planae atque choralis musicae interpretatio, Basel 1501) und Nicolaus Wollick (Opus aureum, Köln 1501) weitgehend übereinstimmt, eine Einführung in die Elementarlehre der Musik. Der Verfasser hat, wie er im Vorwort ausdrücklich betont, durch die Veröffentlichung einer mit zahlreichen erläuternden Notenbeispielen ausgestatteten Unterweisung dem damals an der Universität Leipzig herrschenden Mangel an methodisch geeignetem Unterrichtsmaterial abzuhelfen beabsichtigt.
