Biographical Presentation
Opfermann: Lucas O., ein dem 18. Jahrhundert ungehöriger Jesuit, über dessen Geburts- und Todesjahr die Daten fehlen. Er ist bekannt durch seine Controverse mit den Benedictinern in Erfurt: „Philosophia scholasticorum desensa contra oratorem academicum Erfordiensem“ (Erfurt 1748). Opsermann's Angriff galt dem Benedictiner Gordon, Professor der Philosophie in Erfurt. Die durch Opfermann's Auftreten gereizte Benedictinerakademie in Erfurt erließ eine Collectiverklärung gegen den Angreifer, vgl. Nova Acta Eruditorum 1749, p. 143. Ueber Gordon's Verkehr mit Darjes bezüglich dieser Streitsache: Jenaische Gelehrte Zeitung 1750, Stück 46 und 76. Neben O. traten auch andere Jesuiten in Mainz und Würzburg gegen Gordon auf; die hierauf bezügliche Controverslitteratur bei Meusel IV, 289.
