  • Biographical Presentation

    Blarer: Bartholomäus B. (Blaurer), aus Constanz, wurde 1542 (Sommer) in Wittenberg immatriculirt, 1558 oder 1559 Rechtslehrer in Jena, um 1563 Assessor am Reichskammergericht zu Speier. Wahrscheinlich ist Barthol. B. ein Sohn des gleichnamigen Constanzer Bürgers, welcher mit Ulrich Zasius in Verbindung stand bis das Verhältniß sich löste, als Zasius von Luther sich abwendete, während die Blarer auf Seite der Reformation stehen blieben. — Barthol. B. schrieb eine berühmt gewordene Monographie: „In L. Diffamari C. de ingenuis manumissis commentatio“ (zuerst Basil. 1563 fol., dann 1579, 8, Col. 1593, 8), in welcher er als eifriger Anhänger des römischen Rechtes sich erweist. In der Widmungsepistel an Herzog Christoph von Würtemberg setzt er auseinander, der Zustand des Reiches werde so lange ein elender bleiben, bis das Studium des römischen Rechtes mehr floriren und die Gerichte seine Vorschriften überall befolgen würden.
