    Brun II. Bischof von Verden, Graf von Walbeck, inthronisirt 1034, † 21. Aug. 1049. Er war ein Bruder des Geschichtschreibers Bischof Thietmar von Merseburg, und des Bischofs Siegfried von Münster. Er war in Corvey an der Weser erzogen, dann Abt in Mönchen-Nienburg und Bergen. Verheerungen seines Sprengels durch die Slaven wurden unter ihm gemeldet; Bischof Gottschalk von Skara, früher Abt zu Lüneburg, weihete in seinem Auftrage 1048 am 12. März die Krypta oder Kluft des Klosters St. Michaelis auf dem Kalkberge zu Lüneburg.
