  • Biographical Presentation

    Nach Beendigung seiner Studien nahm B. unter O. Börsch an den Nivellements für die europäische Gradmessung teil. 1864 trat er in die väterliche Fabrik ein und errang seine Erfolge u. a. durch die Konstruktion des Puller-B.schen Kreistachymeters, ferner eines tachymetrischen Nivellierinstruments mit Distanzmesser und eines Orientierungsinstruments für Anschlußmessungen im Bergbau. Besondere Bedeutung erlangte das Seibt-B.sche Feinnivellier bei den Nivellements z. B. des Kaiser Wilhelm-Kanals, der Wolga und des Simplontunnels. - 1912 Dr.-Ing. e.h. der TH Aachen.
