  • Biographical Presentation

    B. besaß 1589-1629 die Apotheke „Zum Marienbild“ und gehörte seit 1594 dem größeren Rate der Stadt an. Als Botaniker und Naturaliensammler von Ruf mit eigenem botanischen Garten und Naturalienkabinett stand er in enger Verbindung mit dem Vorsteher der kaiserlichen Gärten Karl Clusius und dem kaiserlichen Leibarzt Joh. Aichholtz in Wien, welch letzterer auf seine Veranlassung das „Stipendium aureum“ für Medizinstudierende nach Nürnberg vermachte. Zusammen mit →Ludwig Jungermann, Gießen und nachher Altdorf, beschrieb B. im Auftrage des Eichstätter Bischofs Johann Konrad von Gemmingen dessen großartige Gartenanlage auf der Willibaldsburg.
