    Kleiner: Joseph K., geb. am 16. Juni 1725 zu Bischofsheim a. d. Tauber, † am 14. Mai 1786 zu Heidelberg, studirte zuerst in Würzburg, wo er auch Dr. phil. und 1743 Jesuit wurde, sodann die Theologie in Heidelberg, docirte seit|1758 Philosophie in Mainz, sodann in Würzburg seit 1760 anfänglich Philosophie, hierauf Theologie, wurde 1763 Dr. und Professor der Theologie in Heidelberg. 1784 daselbst Doctor der Rechte. Seine Bücher vermachte er der Universität. Er betheiligte sich in dem Streite gegen Hontheim insbesondere durch zwei „Diss. de origine et antiquitate, muniis et praerogativis S. R. E. Cardinalium“, Heidelb. 1767 ff.
