  • Biographical Presentation

    Nach dem Tode ihres Mannes lebte B. zunächst im Steinhause an der Klosterpforte der Augustiner-Chorherren in Sagan, zog jedoch infolge des Saganer Interdikts kurz vor ihrem Tode ins Spital vor der Stadt Freystadt. Sie war eine Leidensmystikerin, die nach dem Catalogus Abbatum Sagenensium zur höchsten Stufe der Betrachtung aufstieg. Durch ihre Visionen gehört sie in eine Reihe mit Katharina von Siena, Brigitta von Schweden und →Dorothea von Montau. Der Saganer Augustinerabt Simon Arnoldi schrieb zwischen 1457-64 ihre mystischen Äußerungen und Gesichte als „Liber spiritualis gracie“ (Buch der geistlichen Gnade) lateinisch nieder, das eine „einzigartige religionspsychologische Quelle“, besonders für schlesische Volksfrömmigkeit, bildet.
