Biographical Presentation
Kurpfälzische Familie, von der ein Zweig Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts nach Nordamerika auswanderte. Zu ihr gehören unter anderem die Brüder →Julius (1825–91), Abteilungschef der Küstenüberwachung und -vermessung in Washington (siehe Pogg. III-V), und →Eugen (1833–1916), Professor der landwirtschaftlichen Chemie und Geologie in Berkeley (siehe DBJ I, Totenliste 1916, Literatur), ferner →Theodor (1790–1873), Jurist, Farmer und Schriftsteller (siehe DAB).
