Biographical Presentation
A. erwarb 1619 das Straßburger Bürgerrecht und trat in die Zunft der Steltze (Buchdrucker, Maler und Goldschmied) ein. Er war in der Hauptsache Lohndrucker für fremde Verlage; daneben verlegte er auch 53 kleinere Druckschriften, meist theologische und juristische Dissertationen und politische Flugschriften. 1641 kaufte er die Druckerei des verstorbenen Druckers J. Ph. Sartorius. Seit 1647 begegnen wir seinen Erben. Die Druckerei ging 1651 vielleicht durch Kauf an den Straßburger Drucker Jacob Thilo über.
