  • Biographical Presentation

    Hardmann: Jacob H., Jesuit, geboren am 21. Mai 1720 zu Hartheim in Franken, am 10. October 1760 zu Würzburg. Er trat im J. 1740 in den Jesuitenorden, unterrichtete fünf Jahre in den Collegien zu Heidelberg und Mainz, studirte dann zu Würzburg unter F. X. Widenhofer Theologie und Orientalia und promovirte am 21. August 1752. Nachdem er einige Jahre zu Heidelberg und Bamberg Philosophie docirt hatte, wurde er im Herbst 1759 ordentlicher Professor der heiligen Schrift, der Polemik und des Hebräischen zu Würzburg, starb aber schon nach einem Jahre. Gedruckt ist von ihm nur eine Dissertation, die der Jesuit Georg Wiesner unter seinem Präsidium vertheidigte: „B'reschith. Liber Genesis ... in publica exercitatione hebraico-scripturistica analytice, historice, dogmatice, ethice ac polemice exponendus“, 1760.
