    Zu der aus Glogau stammenden Familie gehören unter anderem: Elcan Marcus, nach Taufe →Eduard Moritz (1781–1840, Bruder des Meyer Elcan, siehe Genealogie 1), Professor der Mathematik und Physik an der Bau- und Kunstschule in Breslau (s. ADB X), dessen Söhne →Ludwig Ernst (1820–88), preußischer Wirklicher Geheimer Oberregierungsrat im Innenministerium, Chef des Literarischen Pressebüros, Herausgeber der Provinzialkorrespondenz und Mitglied des Landtags (s. ADB 49), →Carl (1824–80), preußischer Geheimer Oberjustizrat, Senatspräsident am Kammergericht und Mitglied des Landtags (s. ADB 49), und →Oskar (1831–98), preußischer Geheimer Oberregierungsrat und Oberverwaltungsgerichtsrat in Berlin, Vorstandsmitglied der Evangelischen Generalsynode, Freund A.
