Biographical Presentation
Garibald II. (etwa Beginn des 7. Jahrhunderts), der dritte bekannte Baiernherzog, Sohn und Nachfolger Tassilo's I., in dem wol ein Sohn, jedenfalls ein Verwandter Garibald's I., zu suchen ist. Aus seiner Regierung sind nur Kämpfe mit den Slaven im Südosten überliefert. Dieselben schlugen die Baiern bei Aguntum (Innichen oder Lienz im Pusterthale?) und verheerten deren Marken, wurden jedoch bald von diesen besiegt und zurückgedrängt.
