  • Biographical Presentation

    F. besuchte das Seminar Auerbach 1883-89; seit 1892 ständiger Lehrer in Leipzig, arbeitete er im Verein für wissenschaftliche Pädagogik als Anhänger Herbarts und T. Zillers. Zum Studium zugelassen, promovierte er 1901 zum Dr. phil., wurde Schuldirektor in Leipzig, Bezirksschulrat in Rochlitz (1914), in Grimma (1919), in Dresden III (1926), trat 1934 in den Ruhestand. – F. hat auf geschichtspädagogischem Gebiete Erhebliches geleistet; in Reclams Universalbibliothek gab er guteingeleitete Texte Herbarts, Basedows, Franckes, Rochows, Rousseaus, Lockes, Campes heraus. Koehlers Lehrerbibliothek brachte Texte von Trapp, Basedow; in Greplers Klassikern der Pädagogik erschien →Tuiskon Ziller. Schulpolitisch setzte er sich für Verbesserung der Lehrerbildung und Lehrerfortbildung ein.
