  • Biographical Presentation

    Zuerst 819 als Archidiakon des Erzstifts Salzburg genannt, folgte A. 821 dem Erzbischof Arno und erhielt 824 auf Wunsch Kaiser Ludwigs des Frommen von Eugen II. das Pallium. Er setzte die Missionierung Karantaniens und Oberpannoniens fort und ernannte Otto zum Chorbischof (episcopus Sclavorum). Unter ihm wurde zu Neutra die erste Kirche der heutigen Slowakei geweiht.
