Biographical Presentation
Frid (oder Frind), Stadtsyndicus zu Straßburg, in den verhängnißvollen Jahren, welche der Uebergabe der Stadt an Ludwig XIV. vorangingen. Er wurde mit Aufträgen, die Interessen der Stadt betreffend, betraut, und galt für einen Anhänger der französischen Parthei. Als solcher wurde er vielfach verdächtigt, unter andern von General-Lieutenant Montecuculi bei dem Straßburger Magistrat angeklagt, und hatte sich gegen diese Anschuldigung zu vertheidigen, was ihm auch vorläufig gelang (ca. 1675), † 10. März 1677.
