    Fleischmann: Gottfried F., Arzt, den 23. Febr. 1777 in Erlangen geboren, hatte daselbst Medicin studirt, 1800 den Doctorgrad und 1804 die Stelle des Prosectors am anatomischen Theater erlangt; 1810 habilitirte er sich als Privatdocent, wurde 1818 zum Prof. extraord. und 1824 zum Prof. ord. der Anatomie und Physiologie und zum Director des anatomischen Institutes ernannt; er ist im J. 1850 gestorben. — Die schriftstellerische Thätigkeit Fleischmann's, welche nur bis zum J. 1823 reicht, umfaßt theils die normale Anatomie und Entwicklungsgeschichte (in letzter Beziehung ist besonders seine Arbeit „De chondrogenesi asperae arteriae etc.“, 1820, in weiterer Ausführung deutsch im Deutsch. Arch. für Physiol., 1823, VIII. S. 65), theils die pathologische Anatomie (hieher gehört seine Habilitationsschrift „De vitiis congenitis circa thoracem et abdomen“, 1810, und eine zum Theil interessante Sammlung von 96 Leichenöffnungen,|1815), endlich auch die anatomische Seite der forensischen Medicin, welche er durch eine compendiöse, aber gute „Anleitung zur forensischen und polizeilichen Untersuchung der Menschen- und Thierleichen“, 1811, ferner durch eine sehr geschätzte Arbeit über die Todesart der Strangulirten (in Henke, Zeitschrift 1822, III. S. 310) etc. bereichert hat. Vom 2. Bande des von Meckel redigirten Deutschen Archives für Physiologie ist Fleischmann als Mitherausgeber genannt. Ein vollständiges Verzeichniß seiner Schriften findet sich in Callisen, Med. Schriftsteller-Lexikon, VI. S. 323 und XXVIII. S. 63.
