Biographical Presentation
Erythräus: Gotthard E., Kirchentonsetzer, geb. zu Straßburg, erlangte 1587 zu Altdorf die Magisterwürde, war 1595 Cantor und von 1609 bis zu seinem Tode 1617 Rector der Stadtschule daselbst. Er ist nur durch zwei Werke bekannt: „Psalmi et cantica varia“ und „Herrn D. Mart. Lutheri und anderer Gottesfürchtiger Männer Psalmen und Geistliche Lieder“, 4 voc. (85 Lieder enthaltend) — beide zu Nürnberg 1608 gedruckt.
