  • Biographical Presentation

    Unterfränkisches Adelsgeschlecht, stammverwandt mit den Herren von Wolfskeel, ursprünglich wohl Dienstmannen der Edelfreien von Grumbach (s. NDB VII), der Reichsritterschaft zugehörig. Bischöfe von Würzburg waren Wolfram Wolfskeel von G. 1322-33 und Johann von G. 1455-66 (s. ADB XIV). Ausgestorben 1735.
