  • Biographical Presentation

    Die Familie (bis Ende 17. Jh.: Kögelke) stammt aus Oldenburg und stand durch viele Generationen im Dienst der Fürstbischöfe von Münster und der Kurfürsten von Köln. Ein Zweig wurde im 19. Jh. in Estland ansässig. Zu ihr gehören u. a.: →Paul (1843–1904), Herausgeber der St. Petersburger Zeitung, dessen Sohn →Carlo (1876–1945), Journalist, 1936-41 Chefredakteur der Deutschen Post aus dem Osten, →Erich (1870–1945), Maler (s. ThB), →Ernst (1871–1948), Psychiater, 1902-38 Direktor der Irrenanstalt Seewald b. Riga, →Leo (1880–1931), Arzt u. Kunsthistoriker, und →Alkmar (* 1911), Professor der Anatomie in Kiel.
