    Die Familie stammt wahrscheinlich aus dem Ort Mackensen im Solling. →Carl (1813–1902, Ov d. August, s. unten), auf Astfeld, schaumburg-lipplipp. Generalpräfekt, erhielt 1888 den braunschweig. Adelstand als „M. v. Astfeld“. Zu dessen Nachkommen gehören → Ferdinand M. v. A. (1883–1969), Vizepräsident der Prov. Pommern (s. Wi. 1935), und →Georg M. v. A. (1882–1964), Generalleutnant der Luftwaffe.
