  • Biographical Presentation

    Da der Vater schon 1498 „der Alte“ genannt wird, muß der gleichnamige Sohn schon zu dieser Zeit in Augsburg tätig gewesen sein. 1512 wird er als Meister erwähnt. Möglicherweise war er oder sein Bruder Jacob der Maler des 1517 datierten großen Flügelaltares (innen Kreuzigung, außen Verkündigung in Grisaille), der im Auftrag der Familie Rehlinger für die Dominikanerkirche in Augsburg gemalt wurde (Staatliche Gemäldegalerie Augsburg). Bis 1520 ist A. in Augsburg nachweisbar.
