Biographical Presentation
Mangold: Joseph M., geb. im J. 1716 in Rehlingen in Mittelfranken (Bezirksamt Weissenburg), wirkte an der Jesuitenuniversität zu Dillingen, wurde sodann (1748) Professor der Philosophie in Ingolstadt, worauf er (1756) an die dortige theologische Facultät überging, und übernahm später das Rectorat der Jesuitenanstalt in Augsburg, wo er zur Zeit der Aufhebung des Ordens noch lebte. Er schrieb: „Systema luminis et oculorum cum dissertations de sono“ (1753) und „Philosophia rationalis et experimentalis“ (1755), d. h. eine Darstellung der Logik, Metaphysik und Physik auf Grundlage der Cartesianischen Philosophie.
