  • Biographical Presentation

    Rosteuscher: Wolfgang R., 1614 zu Hildburghausen geboren, kam 1648 an das Danziger Particulare als „Präceptor“ der dritten Classe, wurde 1653 Lehrer der griechischen Sprache in der zweiten Classe und 1655 Professor p. o. auch für die erste Classe. Nach einer 42jährigen verdienstvollen Wirksamkeit am Gymnasium starb er am 26. December 1690. Unter den von ihm veröffentlichten Schriften sind die wichtigsten: „Tractatus de prosodia Graeca“, welche zwei Auflagen 1659 und 1685 (Danzig, 8°) erlebte, und das „Compendium Grammaticas Graecae Wellerianae“, welches zu dreien Malen aufgelegt ward: 1659, 1661 und 1685 (Danzig, 8°).
