Biographical Presentation
Busäus: Peter B., geboren 1540 in Nymwegen, † zu Wien am 12. April 1587, trat 1561 in seinem 21. Lebensjahre zu Köln in die Gesellschaft Jesu, wo er auch 1568 die vier Gelübde ablegte. Später lehrte er Theologie an der Universität Wien, im Collegium selbst aber die hebräische Sprache. B. galt als vorzüglicher Theologe, und machte sich für seine Zeit durch wiederholte Ausgaben (1569. 1577) des „Opus catechisticum sive Summa doctrinae Christianae Petri Canisii“, welches als ein theologisches Hauptwerk betrachtet wurde, höchst verdient. Dazu kam aber noch das persönliche Vertrauen, welches er als ein Liebling des Volkes in allen Classen der Bevölkerung besaß.
