Biographical Presentation
Hommel: Christian Gottlieb H., Rechtsgelehrter, wurde den 27. April 1737 zu Wittenberg geboren, erhielt 1767 die Professio Tit. de Verb. Sign. et R. J., sowie die Assessur in der dortigen Juristenfacultät, rückte später in die dritte ordentliche Professur der Rechte auf und war auch Assessor des Consistoriums, des Schöppenstuhls und des Hofgerichts. Er starb den 2. Februar 1802 zu Wittenberg. H. hat sich vorzugsweise mit deutschem Privatrecht und Strafrecht in mehreren kleineren Schriften beschäftigt, auch mit Kirchenrecht ("Principia jur. eccles. Protestantium“, Viteb. 1770); er gab Stryck's Tractat de actionibus forensibus, 1769, und (mit den beiden Madihn) Mencke's Introductio in doctrinam do act. forensibus, 1780, heraus.
