Biographical Presentation
Malkmus: Georg Joseph M., katholischer Theologe, geb. zu Hünfeld am 23. April 1811, † zu Fulda am 13. Juni 1877. M. machte seine theologischen Studien zu Fulda und Würzburg 1830—34, wurde hier 1834 auf Grund einer Dissertation „De ea, quae inter jus ecclesiasticum et theologiam historicam et systematicam intercedit, relatione“ zum Dr. theol. promovirt und in demselben Jahre zu Fulda zum Priester geweiht. Nachdem er einige Jahre Religionslehrer am Gymnasium in Marburg gewesen, wurde er 1839 Professor am Seminar in Fulda (für Dogmatik und Kirchengeschichte, 1851 für Kirchenrecht), 1846 Subregens, 1862 Domcapitular. Wissenschaftliche Schriften hat er seit 1834 nicht veröffentlicht; er nahm aber seit 1848 an der katholischen Bewegung, den kirchlichen Vereinen etc. lebhaften Antheil, gab auch 1849—54 einen „Correspondenten des Piusvereins“ heraus.
