  • Biographical Presentation

    Limpens: Ferdinand L., Jesuit, † 15. Dec. 1745. Zu Bongard bei Aachen geboren war er 1700 in die Gesellschaft Jesu eingetreten, welche ihn in Trier als Prediger an der Jesuitenkirche, dann im Dom und als Lehrer der Philosophie an der Universität daselbst verwendete. Später wurde er Rector mehrerer anderer Collegien, auch Provincial, kam dann wieder als Superior des erzbischöflichen adeligen Seminars nach Trier und zog sich gegen Ende seines Lebens in das Noviciatshaus daselbst zurück, wo er starb. Hontheim (Hist. Trev. dipl. III, 230) rühmt sein Talent und seinen Charakter.
