    Münz: Martin M., Arzt, ist den 5. Februar 1785 in Bamberg geboren. Nach Beendigung seiner medicinischen Studien in Landshut fand er daselbst 1812 eine Anstellung als Prosector am anatomischen Institute, 1814 habilitirte er sich als Privatdocent, 1816 ward er zum Professor extraordinarius und 1821 zum Professor ordinarius an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität zu Landshut ernannt. Nach Auflösung der Universität im J. 1826 blieb er als Professor der Anatomie an der dort begründeten chirurgischen Schule, wurde dann 1828 in gleicher Eigenschaft an die Universität nach Würzburg berufen und hier ist er am 18. März 1848 gestorben. — M. ist Verfasser eines seiner Zeit beliebten „Handbuches der Anatomie des menschlichen Körpers“ (in 5 Theilen, Landshut 1815, 1817 [1821, 1827], Würzburg 1835, 1836). Außerdem hat er eine überaus große Reihe theils rein anatomischer, theils vergleichend- und pathologisch-anatomischer Artikel in akademischen Gelegenheitsschriften und verschiedenen medicinischen Journalen veröffentlicht.
