  • Biographical Presentation

    Franco, zweiter Abt der Benedictiner-Abtei Afflighem (zwischen Brüssel und Gent), erlangte diese Würde nach dem Tode des Fulgentius 1120 und starb 1134. Auf Veranlassung seines Vorgängers hatte er noch als gewöhnlicher Mönch ein Werk „De gratia Dei XII libr.“, begonnen, welches er als Abt vollendete. Es findet sich in der Biblioth. P. P. Tom XXI. p. 292 ss. mit zwei Briefen, von denen der eine den Satz zu erweisen sucht, daß ein Mönch nach Ablegung seines Ordenskleides nicht selig werden könne. Außerdem werden ihm von Trithemius zugeschrieben „De statu gloriae futurae gloriae lib. I", „Epistolarum ad diversos lib. I“, „Sermones de beata virgine“.
