  • Biographical Presentation

    Buchinger: Johann Nepomuk B., wurde als Sohn eines Advocaten zu Altötting am 8. Mai 1781 geboren, † 27. Febr. 1870. Nach Vollendung seiner Studien in Landshut promovirte er daselbst 1805 als Doctor juris und trat 1812 in den bairischen Archivdienst, in welchem er, 1829—1835 in Würzburg, dann wiederum in München, bis 1852 blieb. In Würzburg wie München, welcher Universität er bis zu seinem Tode als Professor honorarius angehörte, las er zugleich über deutsches und bairisches Territorial- und Staatsrecht. Von seinen Schriften verdienen insbesondere Erwähnung eine Monographie über Julius Echter von Mispelbrunn, Bischof von Würzburg, und eine zwei Bände umfassende „Geschichte des Bisthums Passau“.
