    Moselländisches Adelsgeschlecht (Reichsministerialen bis 1356), bekannt durch die Eltzer Fehde (1331–36) zwischen EB Balduin von Trier und mehreren Adeligen der Umgebung (Anlage von Trutzeltz); zu nennen sind: Ar- nold ( 1329), Domherr zu Trier, Bischof von Cammin, Robin, Heermeister des Deutschen Ordens in Livland 1367-92, Georg ( 1532), Komtur des Deutschen Ordens, in diplomatischen Diensten des Ordens in Deutschland, Livland, Polen, Spanien und Rom (siehe Altpreuß. Biogr.), Jakob III. ( 1581), Erzbischof von Trier (seit 1567) und Philipp Karl ( 1743), Erzbischof von Mainz (seit 1732).
