  • Biographical Presentation

    1897 wurde B. ordentlicher Professor für organische und physikalische Chemie an der Technischen Hochschule Hannover. Er hat über verschiedene Probleme der organischen Chemie gearbeitet, vor allem über Stereochemie der Stickstoffverbindungen, Isomerie der Benzaldoxime, intramolekulare Umlagerungen von Isaldoximen, Synthese der Schleimsäure und der Zuckersäure. Seine bedeutendste Leistung ist die Synthese der Harnsäure (1885–88).
