Biographical Presentation
Ghistele: Cornelis van G., niederländischer Dichter. Als Factor der Rederykerkammer De Goutbloem zu Antwerpen verfaßte er Uebersetzungen des Terenz (gedruckt 1555), des Horaz, des Virgil (1556) und der Heroiden Ovid's (1559), welche zum Theil noch zu Ende des 16. Jahrhunderts abgedruckt wurden. Lateinisch dichtete er: „Iphigeniae immolationum libri II“, 1554, und ein „Carmen gratulatorium ad Philippum regem Angliae et principem Hispaniae“, Antwerpen 1556.
